BLOUNTVILLE – Northeast State announces registration of girls’ law! Technology Saturday workshops are scheduled for January through May 2022.
Workshops are free, and each student can sign up for multiple sessions. Attendance time depends on the student’s performance at school. Workshops for students in grades 7-12.
Students in grades 7, 8, and 9 will follow from 9:00 am to noon. Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 follow from 1 to 4 p.m. There is a limit of 15 participants per session.
Topics and dates of the workshop
They are as follows.
Aviation: Saturday, January 8 – This workshop will focus on aviation maintenance and pilot. Students work with tin and rope. Flight training becomes a full-fledged flight simulator.
Welding: Saturday, February 12 – Proper safety procedures and personal protective equipment are covered before starting activities. Teachers demonstrate assembly and step-by-step procedures before proceeding to Mig Welding and Oxy-Oil Torch. At the end of the workshop, participants complete the project to take home.
Automotive Pleasure Saturday, March 5 – This workshop covers driving, nut and bolt repair and automotive electrical systems.
Cyber Security Week Saturday, April 9 – This workshop focuses on cyber defense. The workshop explores the Internet of Things and vulnerabilities through Bluetooth, standard software and websites. After the overview, students will participate in practical activities.
Electric Pass Saturday, May 1 – Topics include electrical safety, electrical sources, and various types of electrical circuits. Participants will work on one-way and three-way switches, circuits, synchronous motors, Morse code practices, lights and noises, and alternative power sources.
All sessions will be held at the College Blountville Campus on 2425 Highway 75, except for aviation session, at Northeast Aviation Technology Hangar at 971 South Hangar Road in Buntville.
