The virtual ed platform adds integration with the canvas

InSpace has announced a merger with the Construction Canvas Education Management System, a new virtual learning platform that allows students and teachers to interact more online as they do in physical spaces. The integration allows students and teachers to use InSpace via LMS without having to launch other applications.

InSpace, conceived by a champion college professor, allows participants to move themselves – represented by video circles – in a virtual space. For example, you can join a class or group; They can listen and talk to others; And you can share screen content.

Platform Features:

  • Video conferencing for learning and social interaction;
  • Synchronized and asynchronous chat functions;
  • Mobile notifications; And
  • Virtual office hours for professors and administrators.

With canvas integration, the program is available as a mobile app and a browser-based application.

We talked to hundreds of classmates who were not satisfied with their teaching experience at video conferencing forums, not classrooms. They did not have the human interactions and social characteristics necessary for learning, said the associate professor. InSpace has taught at several colleges, including Berkeley in California, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of San Francisco.

“InSpace enables students to work closely in small groups, and to collaborate with teachers on assignments,” said Allan Bouer, an engineering professor at Bran University. Students appreciate the flexibility of online meetings, and we plan to make these a regular feature of the class.

Teachers with canvas labels are being offered free office hours during the ISS online show.
