The redesigned HokieSports.com keeps the athletic department on the cutting edge by looking at industry trends in ecommerce and content consumption. The site uses optimized layouts to enhance content by adding tools and features that improve overall user experience.

New features for HokieSports.com include:
- Center for topics and relevant links designed to show users the most up-to-date and relevant information on the main homepage and sports homepages.
- A social media-inspired feature at the top of the homepage designed to further promote important ads and sports coverage while displaying high quality photos, videos and graphics.
- A variety of modules to encourage users to sign up for Tech Athletics emails, donate to hockey clubs, buy tickets for upcoming events, and more on both the main homepage, sports homepages, programs and name lists.
- Improved content presentation on vertical feed, including news headlines, video highlights, photo galleries, podcasts and more on the main homepage and sports homepages.
- Updated menu navigation, including the addition of a “Link” tab that highlights the various ways in which tech fans are connected to hockey
At HokieSports.com we are excited about the new features. The ‘Moments’ section at the top of the site, in the first place on the college website site, provides a flexible way for our fans to interact with the site and stay up to date with their favorite teams, ”said Salas, senior director and webmaster. “As our departmental content offerings improve, having a flexible homepage allows us to share a wide range of media, from news articles to podcast interviews and video highlights.”
Tech Athletics has also upgraded its official HokieSports mobile app, adding mobile ticket integration and a revitalized platform for Marron and Orange Memories. The mobile app is available for download on both iOS and Android.
