Dubai: The world’s first solar charging point has been launched at Expo 2020 Dubai to light up its fleet of electric van van.

UPS announced this alongside its partners Arrival and DP World at a press conference at the Expo on Sunday.

Solar is powered by solar panels on the roof of the DAP World Floor, which transmits solar energy through the processing system to the charging station (BESS).

The UPS electric vehicles used at the expo will be part of the company’s major transition to zero-emission ship over the next three years.

The two vehicles, manufactured by British manufacturer Arival, were launched in It is part of the first order of 10,000 built-in electric vehicles that will drive the company towards its carbon-free goal by 2050.

The three-wheelers will be delivered later in the day by Jebel Ali and other trucking companies, said Abdullah bin Damitan, general manager and general manager of Dubai-based logistics company Dubai World. They said.

“Our customers and their customers are asking for it,” said Scott Price, president of UPS International.

“You can’t simply go into business without being creative, which is why our partnership with destination is so important,” Price said.

Six-year-old UK-based company Arival, which recently came out of the shadows, In 2016, it announced a partnership with UPS to develop electric vehicles, with the latter forcing commercial and environmental benefits to zero emissions.

“Our electric vans are zero-emitting, solar-powered, and do not need to be connected to an electrical grid to deliver packages. It really does make a difference, ”said Aviv’s Chief Strategic Officer Avinash Ruburur.

The company announced a $ 110 million investment in Hyundai and Yaya in January 2020, with UPS also a small share.

Examples of the two destinations will be displayed at the exhibition site at 4.38 sq. Km.

“Exhibition is where creativity and technology come together to make life better,” said Rygoobur, emphasizing the importance of the off-road aspect of vehicles.

With no remote connections, these vehicles can be used anywhere in the world.

“The sun has taken them out of the grid and will allow these vehicles to be used anywhere,” Price said.

Destination has introduced a new collection method using low-capital, low-footprint microfacies to serve local communities and profit from thousands of units, Rayobur said.

It also allows their vehicles to compete on the price of fossil fuels, buses and other vehicles.

“This will open the way for vehicles to be produced in the region,” he said.

Rebuild, which joined the company about three years ago, emphasizes that these vehicles, which contain no metal and are completely reusable solar panels, “will change the way we think about mobility.”

To further enhance its sustainability commitment and in line with the theme of Expo 2020 Dubai, UPS will purchase carbon offsets for each package sent to UPS Expo 2020 customer counters to reduce environmental impact.

“It is our shared responsibility to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly,” said Bin Damitan.
