NSBA, Cisco release new report on epidemiological recovery and technology

Washington, December 9, 2021 PRNewswire – Today, NSBA and Cisco Small Businesses are releasing a new report on the critical role that epidemics, recovery methods and technology play. According to the report, small businesses continue to fight the epidemic, but their confidence and economic outlook are much lower than before. It also highlights gaps in technology and cyber security.

The NSBA president and CEO said, “In this ‘new standard’, almost two years later, we will see how the epidemic works and technology has become a lifeline for many small businesses.” Todd Macraken. Today, however, one in five small business owners says they are not sure if one person will fully recover from the epidemic and one-third still do not return to pre-epidemic stages.

Among other key findings:

  • Economic security is a major threat to small businesses in the context of Covid-19.
  • Seventy percent of small business owners reported some distance work last year by themselves or their employees.
  • Thirty-four percent of small businesses have completed technology audits.

NSBA Chairman ML Mackey said: “Unfortunately, while technology plays an important role in connecting business owners, their employees and their customers during the epidemic, many small business owners have not been able to prioritize their technology.
