May Wei, Dean of Moss Engineering and Russian College, has announced that he has been appointed Associate Dean of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Technology. Weim announced the appointment of Dr. David Conson to serve as the College’s Assistant Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies. On August 16, Koso will remain in this role until the national search for the site is completed.
These appointments follow the announcement that Dr. Deb Macaway and Dr. Sean Osterman will return to their teaching role in the fall semester.
Judith has been a member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science since 1994 and has been the Chair of the School since 2010. He serves as an associate dean of graduate college and vice president for research assistant.
“Both Dr. Judith and Coins bring a lot of leadership experience and enthusiasm for these roles, ”said Dean Wei. As Russian College grows strategically, its commitment to students, academic track records, and collaborative approaches is extremely important.
During his 27 years at the institute, Judith has held various relevant administrative and leadership roles at the University of Ohio. In addition to serving as chairman of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the largest academic department at the Russian College of Engineering and Technology, he has also held various leadership positions outside the college. Judith served as chairman from 2007 to 2009 and served on the graduating council for six years. He recently served on the Executive Committee of the Council of Chairs and Directors from 2018 to 2020 and chaired from 2019 to 2020.
Koonce has held a number of leadership positions at the university over the past 28 years. After joining Russian College, he served as Director of Engineering Management for eight years and played a key role in helping the program be transformed into an online format. He also served as a graduate chairman for ISE. Since 2012, he has served in various capacities, including Associate Dean and Interim Dean of the Graduate College, Interim Vice President of Research and Innovation, and Associate Vice President of Research.
