II-powered tutor uses Google Cloud to create educational activities

Walden University, in collaboration with Google Cloud, has developed a new tool that uses artificial intelligence to help students evaluate and understand course concepts. The technology, dubbed “Julian” by an AI-enabled tutor, will tap into Google Cloud AI and machine learning skills to generate a variety of learning activities.

When a teacher uploads course content to Julian and assigns specific qualifications – or “classrooms” – the tool points to the content and returns each class to the corresponding course content. The index and link are evaluated by the teacher for quality assurance, and then the device automatically generates questions, sentence practice, knowledge notes, and other learning activities for students through the discussion function. When students complete activities, the tool evaluates their responses and provides feedback.

“As students gain knowledge in their programs, Walden Iy’s powerful tutor can use it to reinforce Julian’s concepts and identify learning gaps,” said Walden’s chief information officer, Carthech Ventateh. Every time students interact with the device, they see a new set of activities that will be generated by the Ii-powered tutor. It also creates student notes, which you can apply to and beyond the program.

In Walden’s first tests, the students who tested Julian said in a university statement that “it is a good addition to their learning process” and is especially useful in “increasing their knowledge of various concepts and completing homework.”

“At the point of the curriculum, different points of view have become more important to students for different behaviors,” said Stephen Tom, chief of Walden’s Transformation Officer. “In the past, the nature of the notes in the Word was more valuable.
