The common perception of laptops is that they need to be explored in some way. This is mainly because brands like to follow a certain trend and do everything they can to convince them to prove their point. I have been reviewing laptops for years and this simple approach has angered the world of technology these days.
But the simple truth is we don’t want to get out of our comfort zone and it annoys me. So when I first saw the Specter x360, it gave me a little hope that the MacBook Clone era would pass. This is a beautiful laptop designed to display 2-in-1 design.
I replaced the Surface Pro with the Specter x360 14 for a week, and here’s my experience with HP’s new premium Windows notebook.
HP Specter x360 14 in India costs 174,999 rubles
HP Specter x360 14 Review -Design and Beauty
Before I started writing about technology, I was a big fan of laptops. I use smartphones for calls / WhatsApp messages and social media, but I spend most of my time on the laptop. As someone who is close to design, I draw on notebooks that don’t seem to be automatic. The Specter x360 incorporates fashion into technology, and you get a hint of unique style and integrated details. There is a hidden luxury in the way this notebook is designed, which allows technology products to see how fashion is now shaped by fashion. This is probably the most beautiful laptop I have just reviewed. It is a fashion diary.
Made of CNC aluminum chassis, my review section came with Poseidon blue color scheme and pal bra accents, precious cut edges and sharp corners. He is unique, there is no doubt about it and for some it may be very flash. But the attractive Poseidon is not blue, it is an impossible thin chassis. It feels like a top-notch tool and supports the build quality design.
The HP Quad Slope logo adorns the lid, allowing you to use the notebook in a variety of ways, including tent and tablet mode. I think it’s good to watch tent mode videos and show presentations to clients. There is a satisfying objection when you close the lid of the notebook.
This laptop is really nice to hold, use and view. But there is something weird in the notebook: a single USB 3.2 Type-A port on the left edge and two Thunderbird 4 / USB-C ports on the right, and one on the back right corner. The port is in a difficult position, somehow. It is not easy to see. You will also find a headphone jack and an SD card reader. The notebook carries an HP vehicle holder and an HP Tilt Pen that are magnetically glued to the left edge but never really sticks. So there is a good chance that they will lose their style.
HP Specter x360 14 Review – Display and audio
The display on the Specter x360 14 is beautiful. It is 13.5 inches (3000 by 2000 pixels resolution) OLED, multi-touch display (to be exact) and not 14 inches. In any case, the Square 3: 2 feature (similar to Microsoft Surface Pro tablets and laptops) provides a wider view of text and web pages. The OLED panel is very bright and offers a nice color scheme. The display is really bright and rises to 400 nits. Text and icons look easy on the eyes, and there is joy in watching movies on display. Screens with small edges (90.33% of the screen-to-body ratio), a noble 720p HD webcam are placed above the screen. It also comes with privacy coverage, Just press the Fn row key and it will cover the lens. For security reasons, the webcam has an IR face recognition, and there is also a fingerprint scanner to access Windows Peace Access.
The sound quality is good but not surprising. You will find four bang and olfactory speakers on your laptop. Even if they sound pure, they do not shout loudly. Many laptops I have reviewed are still better.
HP Specter x360 14 Review – Keyboard and Trackpad
I like typing on this keyboard. There is a backlight, the island keyboard is quiet, there is a lot of travel and a lot of departure. Overall, the HP Specter range has the best keyboard on laptops. You will also find a large trackpad under the keyboard. It’s big, but it’s not big. Trackpad is smooth and accurate.
HP Specter x360 14 Review – Performance and Battery
This laptop is seriously fast. I got the top-end version of the 11th generation “Tiger Lake” Core i7-1165G7 processor with iris Xe integrated graphics, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB solid state drive. I was happy with my Surface Pro, but the Specter x360 is especially fast. I did not have any delays in doing my laptop tasks. You can edit videos and photos with these types of details. Also, browse the web and run a few apps. To be clear, this machine is not designed for content creation or AAA games. Most photographers or videographers do not buy this notebook. That is, it is a powerful notebook and you can take it to a cafe or work from home.
I think the alternative would be good for most people. The chassis is the same, but you get the 11th Gene Core i5 processor, 16GB of memory, 512GB of SSD and 1080p IPS touch panel. That model is priced at the lowest price of 119,999 rubles.
On this notebook I found a battery (7 hours) on average for a single charge. Along with these details, this notebook is honored. The HP Specter x360 14 OLED version has an estimated battery life of 11.5 hours, while the IPS version lasts up to 17 hours.
Much also depends on the brightness of the screen. Of course, the battery life depends on what you plan for the laptop. I am a heavy user and usually spend all day in front of the screen, or working, browsing or listening to music. Notebook also supports fast charging by charging the battery from 0 to 50% in 45 minutes.
HP Specter x360 14 Review: Should You Buy?
I enjoyed using the HP Specter x360 14. It is not a perfect machine, but yes, it is very close. It is also difficult to achieve a well-designed notebook that works well. A notebook like the Specter x360 will never come cheap and will be much in line with what many HP engineers designed this device for. Of course, there are many great Windows notebooks on the market, but the Specter x360 14 is right on many fronts.
