San Antonio – The technology industry in and around San Antonio is growing rapidly and one of the biggest incentives for that growth is Geekdom.
Downtown San Antonio is a collaborative space that provides opportunities for the community to develop resources and businesses.
Geekdom celebrated its 10th birthday just last week, so it has joined Gickdom CEO Charles Woodin. Leader S.A. To talk about growth and the future on Sunday.
“Gikdom is a start-up, a small business, a place where we can help individuals with ideas to help build something into those businesses. We have the resources and programs to help individuals build and do amazing things, ”Woodine said.
Geekdom and the entire San Antonio technology industry have come a long way over the past 10 years.

“I mean, it’s a unique development. You know, when Jikdom was founded, you thought about 2011 and there really were no beginnings you could say in San Antonio and the surrounding area. You see an exciting start, big sales are happening, and now it has changed, and the ecosystem that has grown over the past 10 years is what we are trying to celebrate this past Friday and we are seeing all the partners, Port San Antonio, Launcher SA, VelocityTX all over the place. It was a wonderful time, ”said Wooddin.
The future looks bright in different parts of the city.
“I once read this book on how to build a novice ecosystem. One of the keys to this is a 20-year journey. So we are halfway on this journey and I think you will see a lot of significant progress in the next 10 years. You’ll see a lot of beginners listening to many more amazing stories, such as the Path Lawyer, recently sold for $ 1.9 billion. In the next 10 years, you will see much more than that. And I think you’ll see the east side where these beginners are called home, where San Antonio’s pocket, Port San Antonio, Velocity TX and where they will continue to grow in the city center. And a lot of density is going to be built in those areas, ”Woodney said.

You may not think San Antonio is a place for technology or beginners, but that is changing rapidly.
“I think the first point here is that the culture of cooperation here in San Antonio is stronger than where I was, you know? Here, you will find someone who you normally think will be a competitor to work with you to build your business a little better and help you find that next customer for you. I think that San Antonio is something special, and I think it’s one of those things that we continue to embrace. And I think, you know, here in San Antonio, companies are more likely to be big dogs in the area. So, you know, you think these big companies are going to grow here in San Antonio, you know, they have a great opportunity to build what the city looks like in the future. And, of course, affordable housing, affordable rent, you know, their business, everything, the money goes a long way here, ”Wooddin said.
