These students were able to see Gulfstream G500 and G600 laboratories and manufacturing facilities as well as innovations in aviation. Students spend time with Gulfstream engineers and human resources to learn more about aviation practices and skills.
GameAbove® and the Advisory Board co-sponsored the trip, including private jet transportation. The team sees this experience as a final example of what GameAbove wants to do for its students. It is a constant focus on giving students the opportunity to explore careers and have the time they never thought possible.
Suleiman AbdirahimA high degree in electrical engineering emphasizes the significance of the trip when examining postgraduate employment options. “As an engineering student, visiting the Gulfstream’s Research and Development Laboratory was great,” said Abdirahman. “It was encouraging to travel in the Gulfstream G650ER and then see how the main work is done and assembled.”
Naa Shafer She holds a bachelor’s degree in aviation management and is a senior flight consultant. “He had to learn a lot from this journey,” Schaefer said. “It was great to get an in-depth look at how Gulfstream manufactures the aircraft. It was a great experience to be able to fly in a jump and get off the willow, and I appreciate the opportunity.”
The Gulfstream trip will not be the last of its kind. Part of GameAbove’s partnership with the College of Engineering and Technology is to connect EMU with leaders in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) industries – leaders such as automotive, aerospace systems and sustainability. “We truly thank and thank GameAbove for making this journey a success,” said Dean Katu. “GameAbove continues to help students excel, which gives them opportunities to explore and succeed.
