ASCO Power Technologies facilitates transmission switch management with QR code technology

Florem Park, New York- (Business Wire) -ASCO Power Technologies, the world’s leading provider of energy solutions, announces the implementation of QR codes for all models in the Transfer Switch Portfolio. This new feature gives users direct digital access to documents linked to serial numbers using any smartphone or tablet that can scan QR codes.

The new QR codes are on the new ASCO account for each transfer switch. The label provides:

  • List of transfer switch accessories

  • QR code associated with the device serial number

  • Overview of related service offerings

Scanning this code on a mobile phone or tablet connected to the Internet opens up device-based records. There are two ways to do this:

1. Scan with any standard QR code reader to access:

  • Product brochures

  • Instructions for the switch and the controls and accessories

  • Class-based design and installation drawings

  • Class-based wire diagrams

2. Scan using Schneider Electric Institutional expert Application for access to the above documents, PLUS

  • Factory test reports

  • Certificates of Obedience

  • Earthquake certificates

  • Asset management skills

The new service account, along with the QR code, will open up a number of digital assets that will facilitate the transfer, maintenance and ownership of the facility’s managers, power technicians and end users.
